GO WILD CAMPERVANS TERMS AND CONDITIONS
HIRE PERIOD AND PAYMENT:
Hire charges are based on a daily cost calculated from day of pickup as day one to drop off as the last day. Payment can be made by direct bank credit, cash or credit card. Credit card payments incur a 2% service charge. A deposit of $300 is needed to secure a booking with the balance payable 2 weeks prior to your hire.
UNLIMITED TRAVEL:
All our daily rates are on an unlimited kilometre basis, except for diesel vehicles which incur an extra government diesel tax per kilometre. (diesel is cheaper than petrol )
DRIVER LICENCE: New Zealand recognises drivers licences’ issued by your own country (as long as it is in English or there is an English
translation) as well as international driver’s licences. In New Zealand we drive on the left side of the road and give way to traffic from the right. Speed limits are strictly enforced; 50 kilometres per hour in urban areas and 100 kilometres per hour on the highways. Distances are measured in kilometres.
PERSONS WHO MAY DRIVE VEHICLE: The vehicle may be driven during the period of hire only by the persons described in this
agreement and only if each such person holds a current driver’s licence (particulars of which are given alongside his/her name and address) appropriate for the vehicle at the time when they are driving the vehicle.
HIRER”S OBLIGATIONS: The hirer shall ensure that: The water in the radiator of the vehicle is maintained at the proper level. The oil in the vehicle is maintained at the proper level. The tyres are maintained at their proper pressure .In the event of any warning light being activated the driver must immediately report this to a Go Wild representative.
(a) that the hirer of a rental service vehicle must not use or allow the vehicle to be used for the transport of passengers for hire or reward unless the vehicle is hired with the knowledge of the rental service licence holder for use in a passenger service licensed under Part 4A of the Act; and
(b) that the hirer of a rental service vehicle must not:
(i) sublet or hire the vehicle to any other person;
(ii) allow the vehicle to be operated outside his or her authority;
(iii) operate the vehicle, or allow it to be operated, in circumstances that constitute an offence against section56, 57, or 58 of the Act;
(iv) operate the vehicle or allow it to be operated in a race, speed test, rally, or contest;
(v) operate the vehicle or allow it to be operated in breach of the Act, the Transport Act 1962, Land Transport(Road User) Rule 2004, or any
other Act, regulations, rules, or bylaws relating to road traffic;
(vi) operate the vehicle or allow it to be operated for the transport of more than the number of passengers or more than the gross vehicle mass specified in the certificate of loading for the vehicle;
(vii) drive or allow the vehicle to be driven by any person, if at the time of driving, the driver is not the holder ofa current driver licence
appropriate for the vehicle.
c) The hirer shall ensure that all reasonable care is taken in handling and parking the vehicle and that it is left securely locked when not in use.
d) The hirer is obliged to advise Go Wild if the vehicle is damaged at the time of damage.
e) All accidents must be reported to Go Wild as soon as possible and an accident information sheet filled in ( in glove box).
d) The hirer authorises the owner to process any credit card details held on the hirer’s behalf for any charges incurred.
INFRINGMENT: All traffic infringements, speeding tickets etc. are the sole responsibility of the driver / hirer and will be deducted from the insurance bond if not resolved by the hirer. Any tickets received by Go Wild resulting from your hire will incur a NZ$50.00 charge for administration costs (a) an offence detected by approved vehicle surveillance equipment that is:
(i) a speeding offence; or
(ii) an offence in respect of failure to comply with the directions given by a traffic signal; or
(iii) a toll offence; or
(b) parking in any portion of a road in breach of any bylaw of a road controlling authority or Part 6 of the Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004
c)
any fines for parking/ camping in unauthorised areas is the responsibility of the hirer.
LIABILITY: In the event of any unforeseen circumstances or breakdowns, Go Wild Campervans can only be liable for refunding the time that the vehicle is actually in repair, up to the amount of your daily hire and will not pay for alternative accommodation or food requirements during that time. If your DVD/CD player, fridge, water pump, cooker, lights malfunction or there is water intrusions due to extreme weather , these are not considered mechanical breakdowns and downtime will not be paid for these items. Any problems with the vehicle, including equipment failure, must be reported to Go Wild as soon as possible or within 24hrs in order to give Go Wild the opportunity to rectify the problem during the rental. Retrospective claims will not be accepted by Go Wild Ltd.
FUEL: Vehicles will be supplied with a full tank of fuel and a full gas bottle and are to be returned full. Refuelling will be
deducted from the bond along with an admin charge of $50.00 .
VEHICLE INSURANCE AND BOND: Full vehicle and third party Insurance is compulsory – There is an excess (insurance bond) of $2500.00. For drivers 25 years or less the excess is an additional 25% premium. The Bond is held in the form of a credit card authorization only (Visa or MasterCard), Cash, or a Bank transfer and is not debited if the campervan is returned in a reasonably clean and tidy condition
,there is nothing missing and the campervan has not been damaged or involved in an accident and the fuel and gas tanks are full.
Please note: Insurance is not compulsory in NZ therefore if you are hit by an uninsured driver you will still be liable for the excess. The full excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident is reported, not at the completion of the rental. Excess/ Bond or Bond Reductions applies to each accident/ damage or loss- not each hire.
ACCIDENTS: In the case of an accident, please inform Go Wild of the details as soon as possible. In the event of an accident Go Wild is not required to supply the hirer with another vehicle or reimburse the hirer for any expenses whatsoever.
BOND REDUCTION OPTIONS: Go Wild offers daily insurance options on hires over 7 days whereby the bond can be reduced to either $1000 or $ Nil The insurance amounts are calculated depending on the term of hire. Options 1 & 2 are full cover including glass. By paying
a daily amount the bond will be reduced to $1000.00 (Option 1) or $Nil (Option 2)
2) The bond reduction will be void in any circumstance where a breach of contract exists .

WINDSCREENS AND GLASS: Windscreen and glass breakage including lights if not covered by the above insurance will be deducted from the bond and charged as follows $50.00 per chip. If the Windscreen has a crack but still usable $100.00 If a new windscreen is required the cost will be $300.00 Damage to lights will be charged at the replacement cost.
INSURANCE EXCLUSIONS: The Hirer and or Driver will not be covered by any insurance if in breach of contract.
The indemnities referred to above SHALL NOT APPLY where the damage, injury or loss arises when.
(a) The driver of the vehicle is under the influence of alcohol or any drug that affects his/her ability to drive the vehicle
(b) The vehicle is in an unsafe or unroadworthy condition that arose during the course of the hire and that caused or contributed to the damage or loss, and the hirer or driver was aware or ought to have been aware of the unsafe condition of the vehicle.
(c) The Vehicle is operated on any unsealed road. Eg gravel, dirt, sand or river bed and beaches.
(d) Any personal property is the sole responsibility of the hirer and is not covered by the vehicle insurance.
In the event of breach of contract the hirer and or driver will be liable for all costs including recovery of all vehicles involved and 3rd party property and any legal expenses incurred. All expenses will be charged to any and all credit cards related to the hire. Unpaid amounts will be recovered by any means necessary under the law.
The owner shall have the right to terminate the hire and take immediate possession of the vehicle if the hirer
fails to comply with any of the terms of this agreement, or if the vehicle is damaged.
CHANGE OF VEHICLE: If for any reason the vehicle booked is unavailable at the commencement of the hire, the owner shall have the right to replace the vehicle with an alternative vehicle of similar seating, capacity and facilities. If no such alternative vehicle is available, the hirer shall be repaid any rental charge made by him/her but otherwise he/she shall have no claim of any kind against the owner.
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE: If you have any mechanical troubles we provide free AA 24 hour roadservice cover. The AA will assist you free of charge for any MECHANICAL issues you may have during your travels. Any costs you incur for minor repairs (excluding non mechanical repairs above) we will give you a refund (up to NZ$100); you just need to produce receipts. You must contact us immediately if any major repairs are needed for your Vehicle. Failure to do so may compromise any claim that may eventuate after the hire is finished.
EXTRAS:
All extras hired from Go Wild will be the sole responsibility of the hirer and any damage or loss will be charged at the replacement cost or the cost of repair and are not covered by the vehicle insurance.
Cancellation policy:
Fees payable to Go Wild in percentage of gross rates if:
33 days before pick up No Fee
32 days to 14 days before pick up 25%
13 days to 0 days or No show No Refund
